What to expect
Most leadership programmes tell you how to lead. We put you in charge of an entire world and allow you to figure it out.
Welcome to The Leadership Accelerator: an immersive, three-day experience where students don't just learn about leadership; they experience it.
Each day builds on the last, taking you from a newly appointed planetary leader to a confident speaker presenting at the Galactic Congress.
Along the way, you'll hear from three inspiring professionals who will share their hard-won lessons and real-world leadership journeys. (Speaker announcements coming soon!)
Day 1: Visionary leadership
Your Mission: Establish your world.
-
Choose your planet: You and your team will be assigned a unique planet. You'll receive a detailed brief covering its environment, population, and key natural resources.
-
Define your values: Work together to establish the core values that will guide every decision your planetary government makes.
-
Discover your leadership profile: Take our leadership quiz to uncover your personal strengths. Then, step into a role that fits your profile - whether that's President, Minister of Education, Ethics and AI Governance Lead, or Chief of Cultural Preservation.
Day 2: Governance, ethics & crisis leadership
Your Mission: Survive the unexpected.
-
The leadership challenge: Design your government's structures, draft laws, and tackle complex ethical dilemmas.
-
The crisis card: Great leaders are forged in the fire of unexpected challenges. When an unprecedented crisis strikes your planet, your team must rapidly design and build prototypes to save your people.
Day 3: The galactic congress
Your Mission: Make your voice heard.
-
Prepare your pitch: Craft a compelling speech outlining your team's solutions to the planetary challenges you faced. Explain how your leadership addressed and overcame key obstacles.
-
Take the stage: Present your vision to the entire group at the Galactic Congress.
-
Claim your reward: Teams that demonstrate outstanding leadership, resilience, and teamwork will be recognized and rewarded.

Our definition of leadership
"Leadership is not about authority or charisma alone. At 8billionideas, we define leadership as the positive impact one has on others, the ability to understand, support, and motivate a group toward a shared goal."
We celebrate the full spectrum of leadership styles. While some inspire through energy, others lead through quiet superpowers: thoughtful listening, deep empathy, and careful observation. Every student has a leadership superpower; we help them find it.

TonbridgeI'd like to start by saying a huge thank you to you and your team for the three day conference. My son had such a great time and learnt so much. He came home each evening full of stories, ideas and things he'd learnt. He is now reading a book recommended by you and has designed his own leaflet to help people walk their dogs. You've been very inspiring to him. We run our own business and it's lovely to see him also get excited about the world of business. I am booking him onto the May conference at his request. It's a big thing when children ask to use their free time in the holidays to do things like this.

SevenoaksI learnt that to make a successful business first you need to identify a real problem and make and fix it. I also learnt that just emails and numbers won't make people support you, but making a human interaction and being memorable will make others support the business.

Tunbridge WellsThank you for running this conference. Not only did our son really enjoy the three days, it was full of new experiences and I am sure he has gained valuable life lessons.

Tunbridge WellsI learnt you need resilience and perseverance to become an entrepreneur. I will be more confident when voicing my opinion to others and I will use everyone's ideas to make a fair compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child is shy or lacks confidence in public speaking?
We understand this is a common concern. The environment is highly supportive and encouraging. Students work in collaborative teams, which helps to share the pressure. While the final "Showcase" does involve presenting, the programme is structured to build their communication skills gradually over the three days. Our goal is to help them take a positive step forward in confidence, not to put them on the spot.
How can this experience be used for future school applications or UCAS?
Upon completion, students will receive an certificate alongside their portfolio of work . This certificate is a concrete achievement that can be included in their CVs, future job applications, and mentioned in their personal statements for UCAS. It serves as evidence of their initiative, real-world skills, and engagement beyond the standard curriculum.
What is the cancellation and sickness policy?

My child’s school isn’t listed - can they still attend?
Please send us a message with the name of your child’s school, and we’ll do our best to see if we can accommodate them.
